Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry children that would be raised in the same household, figured out very early on how to conquer of her difficulties by using her rich and vivid imagination. Before she learned to write or read, she began to compose the songs she wrote herself. Her first guitar purchase came when she was 8 and started performing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at age 11. The first album she recorded was within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. She made a name on the local circuit while in high school but she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. She moved to Nashville following her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde (both 1967) and Something Fishy were among her first Monument Records chart-topping records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a girl to sing on his show. Parton accepted the job in 1967 signed to RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. However, it wasn't until 1974 that she opted to walk away from Wagoner's program as the popularity of her own solo records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton composed "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song hit number. In 1974, the song by Parton"I Will Always Love You" reached the No.
