April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball players to capture medals at more than one Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. Ross was born in 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began participating in sports at Newport Harbor High school. From 2007 until 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is now her coach. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the 2009 World Championships. The duo would go into winning a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings the legendary team that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, beat each other to take home the gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's resignation. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross participated in the Trojans of USC in her college after graduating from high school. This was an impressive run for Ross at the university. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of Award and also be named an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans get to the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to repeat as an All-American. Through her two final seasons with the Trojans team, she led them to a national title every year. Her individual achievements have cemented her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross, who was a USC international relations student, was a star in volleyball. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross become the highest beach volleyball level. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. However, she keeps her mother in her his heart. Margie is a beach lover as well as in everyday life, continues to inspire her.
